This high open area honeycomb filter is engineered for where airflow efficiency and reusability have to coexist. The open-cell grid lets air through with minimal resistance while presenting enough wall surface to intercept coarse loading.
Panels are reusable rather than consumable: rinse, dry, reinstall. That makes it viable in high-flow positions where replacing dense media would otherwise be routine and expensive.
Free area at the filter face sets how much the rest of the system has to compensate. A frank exchange: denser media captures more fine material but costs more to push air through. This panel is deliberately on the open end of that trade, because it is built to do coarse work in high-volume streams.
In a high-flow position media loads quickly, and if it is disposable you have committed to a permanent replacement cycle. A washable panel removes that cycle entirely — the recurring cost becomes a rinse rather than a purchase order.
