Client: CableTech Industries | Industry: Cable & Wire | Region: North America
The Story
CableTech was winding high-value fiber optic cable onto traditional plywood reels. The reels were heavy, moisture-sensitive, and required ISPM-15 fumigation for export. Operators faced ergonomic issues, and freight costs were inflated by reel weight.
Rulowin designed a family of PP peel spools with custom flange diameters, arbor holes, and drive-hole patterns matched to CableTech winding and unwinding equipment. The spools are UV-stabilized, waterproof, and fully recyclable.
CableTech deployed the PP peel spools across three production facilities, reducing freight cost per reel, eliminating fumigation delays, and improving operator ergonomics.

The PP peel spools paid for themselves through freight savings alone. Add in the reusability and elimination of fumigation, and the decision was obvious.
