A washable polypropylene honeycomb screen for livestock and poultry house ventilation, built for humid, ammoniac air where metal mesh corrodes and paper media breaks down. It rinses clean and goes back into service.
Ventilation in animal housing carries moisture, ammonia, dust and feathers. Polypropylene is unaffected by all of it, which removes the corrosion and rot failure paths that shorten service life in this application.
Animal housing combines every hostile factor at once: continuous humidity, ammonia from waste, dust from feed and bedding, and feathers in poultry houses. It corrodes metal, rots organic media and clogs fibrous filters.
PP absorbs no moisture and resists both alkaline ammonia and the organic acids present in these environments. It does not rust, does not rot, and releases accumulated dust readily under a rinse, which suits routine wash-down.
In livestock buildings ventilation is not a comfort setting, it is a welfare requirement. Any screen added to an inlet must therefore cost as little airflow as possible, which is why the open honeycomb structure matters more here than in most applications.
