Guarding Powder and Green Parts

Metal powder and freshly printed green parts are sensitive to moisture and contamination that can ruin a build and waste expensive machine time on a high-value additive job. Rulowin supplies sealed PP bins with EPDM gaskets holding an IP54 rating, keeping relative humidity below 35 percent for up to 72 hours unrefrigerated in transit between the hub and the satellite printer.

That protects cobalt-chrome and titanium powder from clumping and keeps green parts from absorbing ambient moisture that later causes curl or delamination in the sintering oven downstream of the printer. The seal also blocks workshop dust, which is the silent killer of print quality in a shared manufacturing cell where multiple processes run side by side and throw particles into the air continuously during the shift.

Static Control for Polymer Filament

Nylon and TPU filament attract dust when charged, and that dust later causes print defects or nozzle jams on a long and unattended print job that the operator cannot easily interrupt. Our static-dissipative PP totes drain charge to a grounded rack, reducing particulate adhesion that degrades print quality on the exposed spool sitting in the open bin on the shelf.

Surface resistance is held at 10 to the 7 ohms across the duty cycle, which is the window that protects sensitive polymer without creating a spark hazard near fine metal powder stored in the same additive cell nearby. The controlled resistance also means the tote can sit on a standard ESD bench and be opened without a separate grounding step that busy technicians tend to skip when a print is waiting and the line is down.

Modular Bins for Build Plates

Additive cells run many small build jobs with different consumables that change by the hour as the schedule shifts between materials and part geometries. A modular PP bin system with adjustable dividers lets one container carry mixed spools, nozzles, and scrap trays without the parts mixing and the wrong nozzle being fitted to the machine by mistake.

The dividers click in without tools, so the kit reconfigures between printer models in under two minutes, which keeps a flexible manufacturing cell flexible instead of locked to one product family by its storage choice on the floor. The speed of reconfiguration matters because setup time is a large share of the cost of a small-batch additive job that does not run long enough to amortize a long changeover.

Closed Loop Between Hub and Satellite

Central powder hubs ship to satellite printers in returnable bins, recovering both the powder canister and the bin on the return leg rather than discarding them after one use. After 60 round trips, the per-shipment packaging cost fell 71 percent versus antistatic bags in a client deployment that had been struggling with the waste stream and the inconsistency of the single-use option that kept failing incoming inspection.

The satellite sites also stopped accumulating a pile of single-use foil bags that had been a housekeeping and ESD-control headache for the lab manager responsible for the space. The returnable bin is easier to handle, seals better, and presents a consistent interface to the printer loader, which improves the reliability of the whole powder-handling process from hub to build and back again.
