PP Corrugated Sheets vs Plywood: A Total Cost Comparison

PP Corrugated Sheets vs Plywood: A Total Cost Comparison

Plywood has long been the go-to material for industrial packaging. But when total cost of ownership is calculated across many trips, PP corrugated sheets often prove more economical.

Unit Cost vs Lifecycle Cost

Plywood may have a lower first cost per sheet, but it is typically used once or a few times. PP corrugated sheet can be reused dozens of times and recycled at end of life.

Operational Factors

PP sheet does not absorb water, splinter or delaminate. It weighs less, cuts cleanly and can be welded. These properties reduce labor, damage and replacement cost.

Compliance Advantage

Wooden packaging crossing borders often requires ISPM-15 treatment. PP corrugated packaging is exempt, saving treatment fees and customs delays.

For high-frequency loops, the math usually favors reusable PP over plywood.
